“Holding the hands——the travel to the native land of Nan Chang”On-the-spot record of the route-seeking tour


 

July 15seven adoptive families who came from AmericaCanadaUK and Netherlands walked into Nan Chang Social Welfare Institute which they had been in aspiration for a long time for taking part in the activity of“Holding the hands——the travel to the native land of Nan Chang”the route-seeking tour. This is a thematic activity of the route-seeking tour of foreign adoptive families organized carefully together by BLAS and Nan Chang Social Welfare Institute.

In the morningthe adoptive families received a warm welcome from the staff of the social welfare institute as they walked into it and a banner which wrote “welcome go back home”was notly viewable. On the playgroundadoptive families had a solemn national flag raising ceremony with institutionalized children togetherin the exhibition roomadoptive parents skimmed over the children’s photographs of those days with their children togetherin the children’s living areaadoptive families looked around the advanced recovery instruments and perfect parenting facilities. Additionallythe welfare institute also held one activity to find out“my little pieces of development”for the adoptive children to make every one left their own fingerprints as a eternal commemoration reserved in the welfare instituteand so to make the activity of the morning approach a climax.

In the afternoonleading comrades such as Liu Xiaopingdeputy chief of Bureau of Civil Affair of Nan ChangTan MingzhuSecretary of Nan Chang Social Welfare InstituteWan JunAssistant Director of BLAS had a rap with adoptive families. All of them recalled the children’s anecdotes in childhood and shared the joy of being together. Furthermorethe welfare institute particularly arranged a meeting for adoptive families and babysitters. Secretary Tan Mingzhu gave special gifts to the adoptive children on behalf the welfare institute after the meetingXinhua dictionary and Jingdezhen Chinawareand the adoptive families also donated with money and things one after anotherexpressing their love for those institutionalized children.

In the eveningthe adoptive families learned to make dumplings from the staff of the welfare institute in spirits and had dinner with them together. On the point of farewelladoptive families part from the staff of the welfare institute reluctantly and committed to come back often with each other.
